Our research group recently acquired a Topometrix 2000 AFM, with both the Discover SPM chassis and Explorer AFM chassis, and a marble table for vibration damping. (See below for links to Topometrix's new website as ThermalMicroscopes as well as their old website from before the merger.) We got them for free off of the reuse mailing list at MIT. You can find out much more information about our AFM on Oliver's Homepage. Now, after setting it up in our lab to run off of an old 486 we had lying around, we have gotten it working and have some cool pictures:
